Family Traditions

I've been joining Dennis and his family for their annual beach trip for 6 or 7 years now. They rent a beach house with another couple, the Wingates, and their children for a relaxing and fun week on the sandy beaches of South Carolina.

Originally going to Garden City and now to Pawley's Island, this trip is steeped in family tradition from the meals that are prepared (the fat-back prepared green beans are sinfully delicious), to the stories that are told (and re-told and re-told...) and the card games that are played. One of these card games, "Oh Hell!" is one of my favorite Martin-Wingate beach trip traditions.
